Over the past month, there have been a lot of big transitions taking place at Nieu Communities in South Africa. It was no surprise that our site director (Arthur) and his family were going to be moving to Cape Town to start a new ministry there. But what has been decided in the last few weeks is that they will be moving out of our team sooner than later. In the interim, my friend Bryan will be taking over to finish out our year here.
Along with Bryan, there is a guy from CRM in town with his family until early November. Colin runs the ministry “Enterprise International” doing business for the purpose of ministry and ministry resourcing. Colin and his wife will be around to serve as coaches/mentors for the staff. I’ve already had the privilege of working with Colin on some future vision sorts of things, and it’s proven quite awesome for me (he actually lent me an extra computer to use at home until ours gets fixed… hence why I’m blogging now).
What’s hard right now is that while Bryan is the interim leader or our apprenticeship, we have been informed that he and his wife will be leaving at the end of the year as well. Transitions are hard. Saying goodbye to friends like the Wards (Bryan and Daleen) and the Stewarts (Arthur and Melissa) is a blow to the heart. They’ve been highly instrumental in our lives and we’re sad to see them leave. BUT, God has new things for them and THAT… THAT is where we celebrate!
Yes, the goodbyes do stink. Praying that God will meet your every need.
