Let me preface to say that I’m not worried about this, but I need to make everyone aware of what’s going on with our funding so you can help if you’re able. Over furlough, we were not able to pick up too many new donors for our funding team. God was good to us in a lot of other ways and got us through the end of the year financially okay. But as we move into 2011, we need to really prepare for a few key things.
- Ezra’s school fees are increasing and Keziah starts school next year. That will raise our expenses an extra $150 a month.
- Rent goes up 10% every year in South Africa, which takes affect in July for us this year. That’s another $100 a month we stand to lose.
- Our budget for 2012 will have to increase to a minimum of $4750, but we may need to bump it up to $5000 with the cost of inflation in South Africa, and the weakening of the US dollar abroad.
- We current bring in an average of $4100 a month.
If there is anyway the wider readership of this could consider joining our finance team for as little as $15 a month, it honestly makes a massive difference. When we first launched, we had an army of supporters giving between $10-50 a month. When you multiply that out by everyone that regularly prays for us and interacts with us, that would put us right at the 100% mark.
